Why your health program isn't selling (it's not what you think)

Jul 09, 2025

Recently, I spoke with a naturopath who was incredibly frustrated. She'd spent months creating what she thought was the "perfect" gut health program.

Beautiful workbooks. Hours of video content. Detailed meal plans.

But after launching it to her email list of 800 people... crickets. Just 2 sign-ups.

Sound familiar?

Here's the thing - she made the same mistake 90% of wellness practitioners make.

She created a program based on what she THOUGHT people needed, instead of what they actually WANT to pay for.

The Difference Between Needs and Wants

Your ideal clients might NEED a comprehensive gut health overhaul, but what they WANT is:

  • To stop feeling bloated after every meal
  • To not have to rush to the bathroom during important meetings
  • To wear their favorite jeans again without discomfort

See the difference?

The Niche-Problem Formula That Sells

Instead of "Gut Health Program" (too vague), successful practitioners are creating offers like:

✅ "Bloat-Free in 8 Weeks for Busy Mums"

✅ "The IBS Reset for Professional Women"

✅ "End Digestive Drama: A 6-Week Solution for Women Over 40"

Notice how specific these are? They target:

  • A specific WHO (busy mums, professional women, women over 40)
  • A specific WHAT (bloating, IBS, digestive issues)
  • A clear outcome (bloat-free, reset, end drama)

What Your Clients Are REALLY Paying For

Here's something that might surprise you...

Your clients aren't actually paying you for information. They can Google most of what you know!

What they're paying for is:

  • 20% Education (the curated info they need)
  • 30% Your Expert Advice (your clinical experience)
  • 50% Accountability (keeping them on track)

That's right - HALF of what they're investing in is accountability to actually implement what you teach them.

This is why Weight Watchers works. It's not rocket science nutritionally, but the community and accountability are everything.

Your Next Steps

If you're ready to create an offer that actually sells:

  1. Get specific - Who exactly are you helping and with what specific problem?
  2. Focus on transformation - What's the outcome they desperately want?
  3. Build in accountability - How will you keep them on track?
  4. Validate first - Talk to potential clients before you build anything

Remember: There are people out there right now struggling with the exact problem you can solve. They're Googling solutions at 2am, feeling frustrated and alone.

Your job isn't to create the most comprehensive program possible.

Your job is to be the guide who gets them from where they are to where they want to be, as quickly and effectively as possible.

The world needs more successful wellness practitioners. Because when you're making good money, you can help more people. It's that simple.

Stop trying to help everyone with everything. Pick your person, pick their problem, and become the go-to solution.

Your people are waiting for you.
